The One That Got Away - Children's Courtyard

For the Children's Courtyard at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, Nashville-based artist Sherri Warner Hunter created a colorful jungle of larger than life creatures.  Her rain forest of sculptures, titled The One That Got Away, includes two serpentine benches, a matta turtle, an anteater, and a tree frog, as well as a leaf-cutter ant frieze.  Hunter's tile mosaic characters create a space where children's imaginations and the stories housed within the Central Library can come to life.
