Black Bayou

Artist John Golightly's Black Bayou wrought iron fence was commissioned as an artistic replacement for a hurricane fence that lined a culvert in the Normal Station neighborhood.  Community members from had the opportunity to forge pieces of the iron that were then incorporated into the final artwork during a community workshop hosted by the artist.  The scenes that line the fence are reminiscent of this neighborhood's history and echo the identity of the surrounding area.
