American Abstract Expressionist | Collaborative Sculpture
My primary studio work is Abstract Expressionism. My painting work is gestural, action oriented and evokes the physical act of painting itself. Ultimately meant to touch the viewer on a visceral level – the emotionality of my work varies from contemplative, soothing color fields to highly energetic sweeps of flying color – maneuvering between bold strokes of calligraphic abstract forms to minimalist Zen brush markings.
A natural talent for site-specific commission work emerged early on and has grown through the years to include exterior environments. Current 6 years, my interest and focus is about creating canvas and collaborative sculpture for interior/exterior environments, often times collaborating with sculptor, Doug Hays. I enjoy the challenges (most days!) of creating public works, the creative pulse of collaborating on a design and/or engaging with the physicality of large scale work. Each skill set, in its own right – pushes, prods and stretches my style and comfort zone into new dimensions of creativity otherwise unobtainable.
22 years experience of site-specific installations and commissions, works can be seen in a growing number of private, corporate and public art collections in North America and Europe.

In addition to studio work –
I'm a passionate mentor for emerging artists and I enjoy participating on visionary teams for corporate or community enhancement projects that involve public art. I teach gestural action painting at my "Flying Paint Studio" in Florida and I'm an avid student of psychology and its relationship to health, healing and well being of the inner child/adult relationship.
