Artist's Bio
We are a collaborative team of two artists in Wisconsin. We have collaborated on many large-scale indoor and outdoor public art projects, and are particularly interested in projects where there is an opportunity to integrate our sculptural work with the site, as well as a chance to get involved with public, community-based projects. Our goal is to create a memorable public space and engage the audience in a lively and intelligent manner. Our work is characterized by a strong profile, a sense of humor, and excellent craftsmanship. It is usually our intention to create an artwork that has a compelling sculptural presence while being compatible with the existing features of the architecture. We are especially attracted to works that change as a viewer walks past - this creates a sense of discovery and keeps up interest upon repeated viewing. We work with a wide variety of weather-permanent materials, and have had design team experience working with engineers, architects, and landscape architects. Public art projects are an opportunity to overcome the apprehension many people feel about contemporary art by creating a valued addition to the community.
